CiHED: Reducing the social and economic gaps in health and education

Reducing the social and economic gaps in health and education

The prevalence of health and educational disparities among various ethnic and socioeconomic groups in the United States is both undeniable and unacceptably high. The objective of The Center for Investigations of Health and Educational Disparities (CIHED) is to promote and support research for a new understanding of the cultural, environmental, physical, behavioral, and biological causes that contribute to health and education disparities in America. These investigations are likely to result in practical interventions that will allow us to reduce the health and educational gaps between ethnic and socioeconomic groups in the United States, in particular within the San Diego area and the surrounding community.

Our vision is that social and economic disparities can be reduced by improving the health and education of the community.

Our mission is to develop novel initiatives to increase the understanding of the underserved community for the causes of diseases, approaches to improve health, and educational alternatives.

The existing health and educational disparities in the U.S. are not only serious social problems, but also major factors contributing to the decline of American competitiveness in the new global economic market. CiHED seeks viable solutions to reduce health, educational, social, and economic gaps in the United States. Please help us to achieve this goal by contributing with a donation.
